Fondant Basics Class, 2 Sessions (Beginner)

 $60 per student includes both sessions, does not include supplies

Students will learn how to make some of the most common fondant decorations for their cakes, including regular and multi-loop bows, and simple flowers. We will also show students the tips and tricks to successfully cover a cake in fondant, as well as how to decorate it with stripes or polka dots, and other simple decorations. Learn techniques that will help your cake to look smooth and professional with nice edges, as well as how to avoid powdered sugar, water, or sugar glue stains. We will also learn how to make a professional-looking cake board that is covered with fondant.


5lb white fondant

CMC Powder or Tylose

18” or larger rolling mat (silicone is best, but not required)

12” or larger rolling pin or rod

small fondant rolling pin or rod (approx 9")

fondant smoother
5-petal flower cutter set, ½ -3" diameter, set of 3 or more

medium fondant ball tool

Wilton shaping foam set (or equivalent)

assorted gel colors

small detail paintbrush

pizza wheel style cutter

craft knife or small paring knife
small cutting board

12-18” ruler


at least 1 c powdered sugar

at least 1/4 c solid vegetable shortening

iced 8" layer cake on cake board, ready to decorate

Box to take home cake

Optional: apron, wet wipes and paper towels, gloves, flower stamens

Classes are not refundable, and fees cannot be applied to a class at a later date.
